I don't really wear jewelry, other than wedding rings or earrings for special occasions, but Mejuri's products are really perfect for "everyday wear," and the prices reflect that philosophy. I'm grateful that it's reflected. I chose the Croissant Dome Hoop. I love its rounded, spiral ridge design and sculptural feel. These were made from gold vermeil, a material new to me, so I didn't know what to expect. However, despite being hollowed out on the inside, it is surprisingly sturdy. The fact that the inside is hollow is also a factor in not feeling heavy to the ears. I rarely wear earrings every day because I have sensitive ears, but these earrings don't irritate me. Stylistically, it's a little too flashy for my tastes, but it's definitely my choice for days when I want to make a statement.
For the necklace, I chose a boyfriend bold chain. This is a solid 14K gold chain made of thin, narrow square links. I like the way it feels when I put it on. It's casual but stands out. The clasp is a bit difficult to operate and at the same time is too small and too thick. I wanted a round clasp with longer tabs and a larger connection hole, but since the chain is adjustable (up to 18 inches) you could theoretically connect the clasp to one of the links. I was also able to do that. Still, it wasn't a deal breaker. And not only does the chain feel light, it looks good, but it's also durable. My almost 1 year old son has pulled it hard a few times and I never had to worry about it actually breaking or ripping it from his neck.
